Keep running your Reddit campaigns, whoever manages them. We take the Reddit Pixel off your pages, and Redacted counts the bookings, forms and orders your ads bring in and cleans each one before it sends Reddit Ads a conversion. You keep the record of which campaigns bring customers, in an account you own.
No annual contracts.

Under HIPAA, sending PHI to a tracking vendor without patients' authorization requires a signed BAA with that vendor. As of 10/14/26, Reddit's ad terms include no BAA, and under Reddit's Business Tool Terms you may not use the Reddit Pixel to share data you know, or reasonably should know, includes health information.
Every advertiser
Reddit's Business Tool Terms are part of the Reddit Advertising Services Agreement(opens in a new tab), so every advertiser who buys Reddit ads is under them, whether or not HIPAA applies to the business.
What it collects
With its metadata sharing setting, which is on by default(opens in a new tab), the Reddit Pixel can collect page titles and product names, categories and URLs from the pages it runs on. On a weight-loss or fertility page, the page title alone can name the service.
Server route
Reddit's Business Tool Terms cover the Conversions API(opens in a new tab) as well as the Reddit Pixel, so a conversion sent from a server falls under the same health-data rule.

That includes a Pixel added by Reddit's store app, as a custom pixel or through a tag template. We install Redacted on a subdomain of your domain. Tools you keep, like a scheduler or a payment form, keep their own code.
When a customer who clicked your Reddit ad books, sends a form or orders, Redacted passes on only the conversions you choose, each under a name that implies no condition, treatment or service.
It goes from Redacted's server to your Reddit ad account, and Redacted keeps its own record of it by the campaign that produced it. Whoever manages your Reddit campaigns keeps doing so.
Sent
Redacted sends Reddit only the conversions you allow, under neutral names, from its server. Redacted waits for consent where it is required.
Excluded
Names, emails, phone numbers, dates of birth and IP addresses, plus URL paths and anything typed into a form.
Held
An event Redacted doesn't recognize stays in Redacted, so a new form can't start sending to Reddit on its own.
Kept
Redacted stores what it records in its own storage under the BAA it signs with every customer, with a log of what Redacted sent Reddit and what it removed first.
Reddit reports the clicks; which campaign brought a paying customer stays a guess.
I'm new to Reddit Ads, and it seems like only a small fraction of the clicks are getting to the website.
Hospitals will spend money advertising and have no idea if a campaign actually drives any new patients.
The pixel often goes on with the first campaign, through an agency, a store app or a tag template, and nobody at the business checks what it sends.
I don't have access to all of their website stuff. I had to set up a landing page on my site and installed the pixel specifically on the landing page.

The FTC, California and Utah allege that the telehealth company shared consumers' health information with advertising platforms, and their complaint(opens in a new tab) lists the Reddit Pixel among the pixels Hims placed on its website and alleges that many of those pixels shared users' health information.

A customer alleges that Meta and Google tracking on the laser hair removal chain's website sent her appointment-booking details to Meta, and the complaint(opens in a new tab) says the site also ran tracking technology from Reddit, among others, that works in a substantially similar way.
Both cases name Reddit's tracking on the organization's own website.

Not by default. Under HIPAA, sending PHI to a tracking vendor without patients' authorization requires a signed BAA(opens in a new tab) with that vendor. Reddit's ad terms include no BAA, and under Reddit's Business Tool Terms you may not use the Reddit Pixel or the Conversions API to share data you know, or reasonably should know, includes health information(opens in a new tab). The BAA you sign with Redacted covers Redacted. Reddit Ads is outside it, and Redacted controls only what it sends Reddit, so it cleans each conversion before it leaves.
Not with Redacted. With both settings off, events from the Reddit Pixel can still carry the visitor's IP address(opens in a new tab), a URL from your site and Reddit's ad cookie. We take the Reddit Pixel off your pages, with whatever installed it, and no ad pixel or Google tag runs on them. Tools you keep, like a scheduler or a payment form, keep their own code.
Not by itself. Reddit's Business Tool Terms cover the Conversions API(opens in a new tab) and the Reddit Pixel alike. Sending a conversion from a server changes the route and leaves what it carries as it was. Redacted sends conversions from its server through Reddit's Conversions API too, and cleans each one first: names, emails, phone numbers, dates of birth and IP addresses come off, and each conversion carries a name that implies no condition, treatment or service.
Redacted sends your conversions to your Reddit ad account from its server. How Reddit counts and reports them is Reddit's decision, and Redacted keeps its own record of the campaign that produced each one.
We do. Whoever controls your domain adds a DNS record for your Redacted subdomain. We install Redacted, take the Reddit Pixel off and set up the conversions Redacted sends your Reddit ad account. Whoever manages your Reddit campaigns, your agency or a Reddit Sales Representative, keeps doing so.
Reddit requires deduplication(opens in a new tab) when the Reddit Pixel and the Conversions API both send the same event. Reddit's store apps send conversions through the Reddit Pixel, and some also send them through the Conversions API(opens in a new tab). During setup we take the Reddit Pixel off, with whatever installed it, including Reddit's store app, a custom pixel or a tag template, and turn off the other connections that send Reddit the same conversions.
Reddit's terms do. They bind every advertiser(opens in a new tab) that uses the Reddit Pixel or the Conversions API, whether or not HIPAA applies to the business. Health information people enter into mobile apps not offered by or for regulated entities falls outside HIPAA(opens in a new tab), and the FTC Act and the FTC Health Breach Notification Rule may apply instead. In Washington, the My Health My Data Act bars sharing consumer health data(opens in a new tab) without consent, with narrow exceptions. Either way, the Reddit Pixel comes off your pages, and Redacted sends Reddit only the conversions you choose, under neutral names.
No. Reddit requires pharmaceutical, pharmacy, healthcare provider and telemedicine advertisers to be managed by a Reddit Sales Representative(opens in a new tab). Which ads run on Reddit is Reddit's decision, and Redacted does not get ads approved. Redacted cleans the conversions it sends Reddit after the click.
Yes. Redacted runs under your BAA, so it can count a booking or purchase completed after a customer logs in, and no ad pixel or Google tag runs on those pages.
Yes, if you want to know how these laws apply to your business. This page describes Reddit's terms, laws and court cases for general information and is not legal advice. Redacted handles the tracking; an attorney can advise you on your obligations. Redacted is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Reddit.
