If Freshpaint is on your shortlist, or you've seen its quote and want options, you have five ways forward: stay with Freshpaint, choose Ours Privacy, choose Redacted, build it yourself on server-side Google Tag Manager, or stop sending conversions to Google and Meta.
Prepared by Redacted, which makes an alternative to Freshpaint and Ours Privacy priced for early-stage founders and healthcare practices.
Fact-checked October 2026.
Stay with Freshpaint(opens in a new tab) if you want consent management in the base plan, appointment matching from your EHR on its top tier, or support until 8pm ET on weekdays. Staying also makes sense partway through a term, because its published Terms don't let you end the contract early for convenience.
Ours Privacy(opens in a new tab) fits a digital health company or provider group that wants call tracking, scheduling, CRM and form connections in one platform and is ready to buy its second tier, Core, where those start. It publishes its documentation and holds a SOC 2 report covering all five trust criteria.
Redacted(opens in a new tab) fits a new practice, a single location or an early-stage startup. It publishes its price, where Freshpaint and Ours Privacy don't, at $99 to $299 a month for up to 10,000 monthly tracked users, month to month, with the BAA and setup included. Redacted sends booking-form and other conversions to Google Ads and Meta, and to GA4. It connects fewer tools than either and has no SOC 2 report.
Building it yourself fits a team with someone who can run server-side Google Tag Manager(opens in a new tab) on a host that signs a BAA, plus a lawyer to review what it sends.
Going without is what some small practices do. In May 2026 a marketer who uses Freshpaint described switching tracking off and bidding by hand at a smaller practice, at the price of "a harder time justifying your ad spend."(opens in a new tab)
Every public account we found that gives a reason for looking past Freshpaint mentions price. A buyer for a pre-launch medical service wrote on Reddit in March 2025: "Freshpaint is $35k which is a lot for a pre-launch medical service. What else is there?"(opens in a new tab) In January 2024 an agency that had talked to Freshpaint and other companies wrote that these services were affordable for its enterprise clients "but not for the individual medical practices that just want to run Google Ads and know how their site is doing."(opens in a new tab)
The one account we found of a switch away from Freshpaint is on Ours Privacy's Freshpaint page(opens in a new tab). As the page read in October 2026, an unnamed testimonial credited to a weight loss platform says: "We switched from Freshpaint because Ours offered better pricing, implementation help, and ongoing support."(opens in a new tab) We found no first-person account of leaving Freshpaint in public reviews or forums.
Cost comes up for Ours Privacy as well. In October 2026 a buyer who had spoken with both companies wrote that "neither contract is cheap"(opens in a new tab).
In May 2026 the Freshpaint customer quoted above wrote: "It can be pricey, but can make sense at a certain scale and risk profile."(opens in a new tab)

None of these prices line up like for like. The Freshpaint and Ours Privacy figures are for plans and volumes their sources don't state, Ours Privacy's entry tier covers up to 50,000 monthly tracked users against up to 10,000 on Redacted's $299 plan, and Google's figure covers hosting only. Going without has no column because there is nothing to buy; its cost is the one described below.
Freshpaint lists its customers as "hospitals & healthcare systems, payers, urgent care providers, DSOs, health tech, virtual care providers"(opens in a new tab), among others. Its entry tier, Comply, covers Google Ads, Meta and GA4 integrations, consent management, tracker monitoring and web analytics. Perform adds audiences, heatmaps and session replay, and Scale adds Ad Performance, which ties ad clicks to booked and attended appointments (pricing(opens in a new tab)).
For onboarding, Freshpaint says "Most customers are up and running in about three weeks"(opens in a new tab) and that its team migrates your existing tags. Its last archived public onboarding guide (May 2026(opens in a new tab)) sets out the Level 1 scope: an implementation call, five 60-minute working sessions, a technical enablement session and a launch validation, with the work "to be completed within 6 months of implementation kickoff"(opens in a new tab). Levels 2 and 3 widen the scope with more sessions and destinations. The same guide budgets 10 to 20 hours of your project manager's time.
Your support level is set in your order form, and the pricing page doesn't say which plan gets which level. Freshpaint's SLA(opens in a new tab) (updated July 15, 2026) gives these first-response times, counted in business hours: 9am to 8pm ET, Monday to Friday, except US federal holidays. Email that arrives outside those hours still gets an answer, and the clock starts at 9am ET the next business day.
| Severity, in Freshpaint's terms | Level 1 | Level 2 | Level 3 |
|---|---|---|---|
| P0, critical | 4 business hours | 4 business hours | 2 business hours |
| P1, high | 2 business days | 6 business hours | 4 business hours |
| P2, medium | 3 business days | 1 business day | 6 business hours |
| P3, low | 4 business days | 2 business days | 1 business day |
Ours Privacy is a customer data platform for healthcare. Its entry tier is Essential. Call tracking, scheduling, CRM and form integrations start at Core, which it describes as "For most healthcare organizations running digital marketing"(opens in a new tab) (pricing(opens in a new tab)). For booking widgets without their own integration, its docs show how to record the booking on your own page (docs(opens in a new tab)). Its pricing page says "most teams are live in under two weeks"(opens in a new tab).
Ours Privacy prices on monthly tracked users, integrations and support, and publishes no figure. Growdent, which has run it for a multi-location dental group since March 2025, wrote in its August 2026 review: "For a tiny practice with low traffic and a very small ad budget, I would look carefully at the economics."(opens in a new tab) A G2(opens in a new tab) reviewer at a small business wrote in October 2026 that the price "can be high if just getting started without a ton of volume"(opens in a new tab).
Its contract terms aren't published, so ask for the term, renewal and notice period before you sign. Ours Privacy's buyer's guide lists "Monthly, quarterly, annual?"(opens in a new tab) among the questions to put to any vendor.
| What Freshpaint and Ours Privacy include | Freshpaint | Ours Privacy |
|---|---|---|
| Entry tier | Comply: "Advertising and analytics integrations, including Google, Meta, and GA4", consent management, tracker monitoring, web analytics, funnels and last-touch attribution (pricing(opens in a new tab)) | Essential, up to 50,000 monthly tracked users: Google Ads, Meta, GA4, one additional destination and external consent tools (pricing(opens in a new tab)) |
| Connecting Google Ads | Sign in with Google. Its last archived public guide (April 2026(opens in a new tab)) has you set up new conversion actions and points to a separate Google Ads Proxy Destination for reusing your existing setup. Freshpaint says its team handles setup, "including migrating your existing tags" (FAQ(opens in a new tab)) | Sign in with Google; a "Sync" button creates conversion actions or links ones you already have (docs(opens in a new tab)) |
| Connecting Meta | Both: paste a Meta access token with your Pixel ID (July 2026 archived docs(opens in a new tab)) | Both: paste your Conversions API key with your Pixel ID (docs(opens in a new tab)) |
| Retargeting and lookalike audiences | Add-on on Comply, included from Perform (pricing(opens in a new tab)) | Remarketing included with its Meta integration on every tier; Audience Builder from Enterprise, marked "add-on available" (pricing(opens in a new tab)) |
| Call tracking | CallRail, CallTrackingMetrics, Invoca and Marchex in the catalog; tier not published (integrations(opens in a new tab)) | CallRail, CallTrackingMetrics, Invoca and others from Core (pricing(opens in a new tab)) |
| Booking tools | Epic MyChart and Clockwise, listed under Scheduling in the catalog (integrations(opens in a new tab)) | Cal.com, Calendly and others from Core; its docs cover recording bookings from widgets such as Acuity, SimplePractice and Jane App on your own page (docs(opens in a new tab)) |
| Appointment matching from your EHR | Ad Performance on Scale; "Implementation typically takes 4-6 weeks" (Ad Performance(opens in a new tab)) | Epic/MyChart and Athena Health from Enterprise, marked "add-on available" (pricing(opens in a new tab)) |
| Consent management | ✅ From Comply (pricing(opens in a new tab)) | Outside tools such as OneTrust on every tier; its own consent platform from Enterprise, marked "add-on available" (pricing(opens in a new tab)) |
| SOC 2 | Type II, Security criterion (trust center(opens in a new tab)) | Type II, all five trust criteria (security(opens in a new tab)) |
| Documentation | Customer login required (docs(opens in a new tab)) | Public (llms-full.txt(opens in a new tab)) |
If your stack is Google Ads, Meta and a booking form, you won't use most of this table. Every Redacted plan includes setup at no fee.
Redacted is priced for a practice or startup that wants to see the price before the demo and pay it month to month. It sends booking-form and other conversions to Google Ads and Meta, and to GA4. It connects fewer tools than either vendor and has no SOC 2 report. If you need call tracking, scheduling or EHR connections, Freshpaint or Ours Privacy fits better.
Server-side Google Tag Manager runs your tags on a server you control, in your own Google Cloud(opens in a new tab) project or another environment you choose. Google's description: "You have full control over how that data is shaped, and where it is routed from the server."(opens in a new tab) Under HIPAA, stripping names, emails, IP addresses and health details from each conversion then falls to your team, along with configuring the tags that forward it to Google Ads and Meta.
Google's Cloud Run guide(opens in a new tab) (updated May 2026) puts each tagging server at about $45 a month and recommends running at least two. An in-house healthcare marketer wrote in July 2026 that it had "taken me almost a month to do it myself for my company's new website, and I'm still working out some kinks."(opens in a new tab)
Google Cloud's BAA covers Cloud Run, where the server can run, but Tag Manager itself isn't on its product list. Google also says "ultimately you are responsible for evaluating your own HIPAA compliance"(opens in a new tab). In January 2024 the agency quoted above reported that moving Tag Manager server-side and anonymizing IP addresses "wasn't enough for the lawyers"(opens in a new tab) at one large client.
Some practices stop sending conversions to Google and Meta at all. A marketer with many healthcare clients wrote in April 2024 that for nearly all of them "they have all of their tracking and analytics completely turned off"(opens in a new tab). The same April 2024 comment adds: "It's been crazy flying blind, but I've also been very surprised how unbothered these clients have been about it."(opens in a new tab)
In May 2026 the Freshpaint customer quoted above described the approach for a smaller practice without the resources for Freshpaint: "strip all client-side tracking, and go back to manualCPC with high intent local keywords"(opens in a new tab), cap bids per keyword, and compare volumes against ad spend year over year.
With nothing coming back from your site, Google and Meta have no conversions to optimize toward, and judging what the ads produced falls to your own records.
Read your order form first, because Freshpaint's Terms let it set different renewal terms. By default the contract renews for another term of the same length unless either side gives written notice at least 30 days before the end date. There is no termination for convenience, and fees are non-refundable except prepaid fees for unused service when you end it for Freshpaint's breach, so a move made mid-term means paying for both tools until the term runs out. Freshpaint may also raise its fees at renewal (Terms(opens in a new tab) §4.1, §8.2, §8.3).
Ask for your data in writing within five business days of the contract ending. Freshpaint then provides a free final extract within 30 business days, after which it may delete the data (Terms(opens in a new tab) §8.4).
In the new tool you reconnect Google Ads and Meta. Ours Privacy's Sync button can link the conversion actions already in your Google Ads account (docs(opens in a new tab)). If you rely on Freshpaint's consent management, set up its replacement before the cutover; Ours Privacy works with outside consent tools on every tier.
Ours Privacy says switching from Freshpaint brings "No loss of performance or relearning"(opens in a new tab). Growdent, writing in August 2026 about moving a dental group onto Ours Privacy from an earlier setup it doesn't name, reported "a few days of uneven performance, but the campaigns generally got back into gear in less than a week."(opens in a new tab)
Under its published Terms, leaving Freshpaint before the term ends rarely pays for itself. If cost is the reason and your site has fewer than 10,000 monthly tracked users, Redacted's plans start at $99 a month; Redacted vs Freshpaint covers when to make that move.
Yes, if you have someone technical and a lawyer to review what gets sent. Building it yourself covers Google's hosting costs and BAA, and what people who tried it report.
Going without costs nothing to buy, though your ads then get no conversions to optimize toward. Freshpaint and Ours Privacy publish no price; Redacted's plans start at $99 a month for up to 1,000 monthly tracked users. Vendr(opens in a new tab), which tracks what companies pay for software, puts the median of five Freshpaint purchases at $35,000 a year on its 2025 page, plans and volumes not shown. For Ours Privacy, we found no public purchase data for Essential or any other tier. Building it yourself means Google's hosting, about $45 a month per server, plus the setup work. Redacted connects fewer tools than either vendor.
Not for convenience, under its published Terms. Fees are non-refundable except prepaid fees for unused service when you end it for Freshpaint's breach, and the contract renews for the same length unless you give written notice at least 30 days before it ends (Terms(opens in a new tab)). Your order form can change the renewal terms, so check it first.
Freshpaint may charge overage once you pass your contracted monthly tracked users two months in a row, prorated for the rest of the term "Unless otherwise set forth in an Order Form" (Terms(opens in a new tab) §4.2). Ours Privacy's tiers step from up to 50,000 monthly tracked users on Essential to 200,000 on Core and 1 million on Enterprise, and it publishes no overage policy; an alert fires after two billing months in a row at or above the limit (pricing(opens in a new tab); docs(opens in a new tab)). Redacted's plans step from 1,000 to 2,000 to 10,000 at $99, $199 and $299.
Ours Privacy connects scheduling and call-tracking tools from Core, and its docs show how to record a booking from other widgets on your own page (pricing(opens in a new tab); docs(opens in a new tab)). Freshpaint's catalog lists two scheduling tools and four call-tracking tools without saying which tier includes them (integrations(opens in a new tab)). Redacted sends booking-form and other conversions to Google Ads and Meta, and to GA4. Its call-tracking and scheduling-app connections are In progress.
Yes, with either vendor: GA4 is on Freshpaint's Comply tier and Ours Privacy's Essential tier (Freshpaint pricing(opens in a new tab); Ours Privacy pricing(opens in a new tab)). A server-side Tag Manager container comes with a Google Analytics client pre-installed (Google(opens in a new tab)). Redacted sends conversions to GA4 as well as to Google Ads and Meta.
Freshpaint runs a partner program with "over 50+ agency partners"(opens in a new tab). Ours Privacy lets one user switch between the organizations they belong to in the same browser tab (docs(opens in a new tab)). Redacted sets up every plan with you, at no setup fee.
Ours Privacy publishes no price for its entry tier, Essential, and leaves call tracking, scheduling, form and CRM integrations to Core (pricing(opens in a new tab)), though its docs cover recording bookings on your own page (docs(opens in a new tab)). Growdent, the agency that runs it for a dental group, wrote in August 2026 that for a tiny practice it "would look carefully at the economics"(opens in a new tab). Redacted's plans start at $99 a month, month to month, with the BAA and setup included. It connects fewer tools than either and has no SOC 2 report.
Have the new BAA signed before any data flows, and ask what the SOC 2 report covers: Freshpaint's Type II covers the Security criterion (trust center(opens in a new tab)), and Ours Privacy's covers all five trust criteria (security(opens in a new tab)). Redacted includes a BAA in every plan and has no SOC 2 report. Whichever you pick, your team still decides what gets sent; Social Catnip(opens in a new tab), an agency that sells Ours Privacy setup, wrote in October 2026: "Compliance is still shared between the vendor and you."(opens in a new tab)

We read Freshpaint's and Ours Privacy's pricing pages, terms, service-level pages, trust pages and documentation on October 29, 2026, logged out, on their US sites, along with Ours Privacy's Freshpaint page, Google's server-side tagging guides and Google Cloud's HIPAA page. Freshpaint's documentation requires a customer login, so its onboarding guide and its Google Ads and Meta setup steps come from its last archived public copies (April, May and July 2026). Reddit comments were read through a public Reddit archive and copies saved on October 27. G2 blocks our reader, so its quote comes from an earlier read in a browser (October 2026). Prices are figures that buyers, an agency and Google have reported; neither Freshpaint nor Ours Privacy publishes one. Each fact links to its source.
