Redacted (tryredacted.com) sells HIPAA conversion tracking on three monthly plans with published prices. Freshpaint calls itself a healthcare marketing performance and compliance platform, and quotes each customer through its sales team. Both are built for the same moment: a patient books on your site, and Google Ads and Meta need to learn that an ad worked without learning who booked.
Prepared by Redacted, which makes an alternative to Freshpaint and Ours Privacy priced for early-stage founders and healthcare practices.
Fact-checked October 2026.
Pick Freshpaint(opens in a new tab) if you need a SOC 2 report, consent management, appointment matching from your EHR, session replay and heatmaps, a larger integration catalog or dedicated account and implementation experts. Consent management comes with its entry tier, and the EHR matching and dedicated experts come with Scale, its top tier (pricing(opens in a new tab)).
Pick Redacted if you run a new or small practice or an early-stage startup, and a contract near the $35,000-a-year median that Vendr(opens in a new tab), which tracks what companies pay for software, reports for Freshpaint on its 2025 page (five purchases, plans and volumes not shown) is out of reach. Redacted's plans cost $99, $199 or $299 a month for up to 1,000, 2,000 or 10,000 monthly tracked users, month to month, with the BAA and setup included. Redacted has no SOC 2 report, no consent manager, no EHR matching and no session replay, and connects fewer tools than Freshpaint.
If you're under a Freshpaint contract now, leaving mid-term rarely pays: its published Terms allow no termination for convenience and make fees non-refundable outside the cases they list. Plan the move for your renewal window. Unless your order form says otherwise, the contract renews for the same length, and stopping that takes written notice at least 30 days before the term ends (how).
Comparing Ours Privacy(opens in a new tab) as well? Redacted vs Ours Privacy covers it.
| Price and terms | Freshpaint | Redacted |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Not published; every plan says "Talk to Sales" (pricing(opens in a new tab)). Vendr, which tracks what companies pay for software, shows on its 2025 page a median of $35,000 a year from five purchases, in a range of $27,800 to $50,220; plans and volumes not shown (Vendr(opens in a new tab), checked Oct 29, 2026) | $99, $199 or $299 a month (pricing(opens in a new tab)) |
| What the price counts | Monthly tracked users, "the number of unique users engaging with the Customer Properties each month" (Terms(opens in a new tab) §1), up to the usage in your order form | Monthly tracked users: up to 1,000, 2,000 or 10,000 |
| Contract | A term set in your order form. The renewal clause applies "Unless otherwise set forth in the applicable Order Form": the term renews for the same length unless either side gives written notice at least 30 days before it ends (§8.2). The Terms allow no termination for convenience (§8.3), make fees non-refundable except as §2.7 and §8 set out, and let Freshpaint raise fees at renewal (§4.1) (Terms(opens in a new tab)) | Month to month |
| How you start | A demo ("Talk to Sales"(opens in a new tab)) | A demo |
| BAA | Offered: Freshpaint "offers a Business Associate Agreement (BAA)" (FAQ(opens in a new tab)); the current pricing page doesn't say which tiers include it | ✅ In every plan |
| Setup help | From "Standard onboarding and support" on Comply to "Dedicated account and implementation experts" on Scale (pricing(opens in a new tab)) | Set up with you, no setup fee |
| Support hours | 9am to 8pm ET on weekdays, excluding US federal holidays; email sent outside those hours still gets help, with the response clock starting at 9am ET the next business day. First response on a critical issue in 2 to 4 business hours, by the support level in your order form (SLA(opens in a new tab)) | 24/7 |
The price row doesn't compare like for like: Vendr's figure is for plans and volumes it doesn't show, and Redacted's plans cover up to 10,000 monthly tracked users.
| Monthly tracked users | Redacted | Freshpaint |
|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | $99 a month; $1,188 if you stay 12 months | Not published. The current pricing page has no free plan (pricing(opens in a new tab)) |
| 10,000 | $299 a month; $3,588 if you stay 12 months | Not published |
Freshpaint sets usage in each order form and publishes no price at either size. As late as July 2026, its pricing page said its entry tier at the time, Compliance, "Includes 150k MTUs"(opens in a new tab), with no price shown (archived July 2026(opens in a new tab)); the current page states no volumes. Its public price evidence leaves volume out: Vendr shows no plans or volumes for its five purchases, and a buyer for a pre-launch medical service posted on Reddit(opens in a new tab) in March 2025 that "Freshpaint is $35k which is a lot for a pre-launch medical service."(opens in a new tab) None of these says what Freshpaint would quote at 1,000 or 10,000 monthly tracked users, so the two columns can't be compared like for like. Ask Freshpaint for a written quote at your volume, and for the term it assumes.
| What each one does | Freshpaint | Redacted |
|---|---|---|
| Google Ads and Meta conversions | On every tier: Comply includes "Advertising and analytics integrations, including Google, Meta, and GA4" (pricing(opens in a new tab)) | ✅ |
| Other integrations | Says "100+"; its catalog lists 54 in all, including Google Analytics, four call-tracking tools (CallRail, CallTrackingMetrics, Invoca, Marchex) and two under Scheduling (Epic MyChart, Clockwise). The pricing page doesn't say which tier includes the call-tracking and scheduling tools (integrations(opens in a new tab)) | Fewer than Freshpaint; call tracking and scheduling apps In progress |
| Consent management | ✅ From Comply (pricing(opens in a new tab)) | No consent manager |
| Appointment matching from your EHR | Ad Performance, on Scale: "Implementation typically takes 4-6 weeks, depending on your EHR system and internal processes" (Ad Performance(opens in a new tab)) | None |
| Session replay and heatmaps | Perform tier and up (pricing(opens in a new tab)) | None |
| SOC 2 | Type II, Security criterion, audit period February 1, 2025 to January 31, 2026; HITRUST r2 at the readiness stage (trust center(opens in a new tab)) | No SOC 2 report |
If your ads run on Google and Meta and you need none of the last four rows, Redacted's $99 plan covers up to 1,000 monthly tracked users, month to month.
Freshpaint was founded in 2019, went through Y Combinator's Summer 2019 batch(opens in a new tab), and says it is "Trusted by 300+ healthcare organizations"(opens in a new tab). Its top tier, Scale, is "Built for enterprise-wide deployment"(opens in a new tab), and its case studies run from health systems such as Baptist Health(opens in a new tab) and physician groups such as CU Medicine(opens in a new tab) to a top-10 national payer(opens in a new tab) and digital health companies such as Osmind(opens in a new tab) and Modern Health(opens in a new tab). Its entry tier, Comply, covers the Google, Meta and GA4 integrations, consent management and web analytics.
Your order form sets the dates and can change the renewal terms; Freshpaint's published Terms(opens in a new tab) supply the rest. Under the Terms:
Before you switch, decide what replaces anything Redacted doesn't do. If you use Freshpaint's consent manager, EHR appointment matching or session replay, you'll need another tool for it or a plan to go without. Redacted is month to month, so you can start it a few weeks before the Freshpaint term ends and compare conversion counts in Google Ads and Meta, as long as the two don't both report the same booking.
That puts the move in the renewal window: give written notice at least 30 days before the end date, or by the date your order form sets.
Yes, with server-side Google Tag Manager, if someone on your team can run and maintain a server. That server strips names, emails, IP addresses and health details from each event before Google or Meta sees it. Whoever hosts it has to sign a BAA too, and Google's Cloud BAA covers the products on its HIPAA list(opens in a new tab), which leaves out Tag Manager. An in-house healthcare marketer wrote on Reddit in July 2026 that it had "taken me almost a month to do it myself"(opens in a new tab). In January 2024, an agency reported that moving Tag Manager server-side and anonymizing IP addresses "wasn't enough for the lawyers"(opens in a new tab) at one large client. Freshpaint and Redacted sell that work as a service and sign a BAA for it.
Freshpaint publishes no price. Vendr's 2025 page puts the median of five Freshpaint purchases at $35,000 a year, with plans and volumes not shown (Vendr(opens in a new tab)). Redacted comes to $1,188 over 12 months at 1,000 monthly tracked users and $3,588 at 10,000, paid month to month. Because Vendr doesn't show what those five buyers bought, the two aren't like for like.
Freshpaint sells through an order form with a set term. Unless the order form says otherwise, the term renews for the same length, and the Terms give no right to end it early for convenience (Terms(opens in a new tab)). Its Terms don't state how long the term is; the order form does. Redacted is month to month.
At Freshpaint, two consecutive months over your contracted monthly tracked users let it charge overage at your order form's rates, prorated for the rest of the term unless the order form says otherwise, and it may raise fees at renewal (Terms(opens in a new tab) §4). Redacted's plans cover up to 1,000, 2,000 and 10,000 monthly tracked users at $99, $199 and $299 a month.
Each signs a BAA: Freshpaint "offers a Business Associate Agreement (BAA)"(opens in a new tab), and Redacted includes one in every plan. Freshpaint also has a SOC 2 Type II report covering the Security criterion (trust center(opens in a new tab)); Redacted has no SOC 2 report. Whichever tool you pick, how your site collects and sends data still decides whether it complies.
Redacted sends booking-form and other conversions to Google Ads and Meta, and to GA4. Call tracking and scheduling apps are In progress, and it connects fewer tools than Freshpaint. Freshpaint's catalog lists CallRail, CallTrackingMetrics, Invoca and Marchex under Call Tracking, and Epic MyChart and Clockwise under Scheduling, without saying which tier includes them (integrations(opens in a new tab)). As late as April 2026, its entry tier at the time, Compliance, listed "CallRail call tracking"(opens in a new tab).
Its plans are priced for one: from $99 a month for up to 1,000 monthly tracked users, month to month, with the BAA and setup included. It connects fewer tools than Freshpaint and has no SOC 2 report.
GA4 is in Freshpaint's entry tier, Comply (pricing(opens in a new tab)). Redacted also sends conversions to GA4.
Freshpaint runs a partner program with "over 50+ agency partners"(opens in a new tab). Redacted sets up each account with you at no setup fee; ask on the demo about agency access.
